The National Capital Division of Alpine Ontario will be hosting again this year two major Junior / FIS level race series at Camp Fortune.
The first being the Anne Heggtveitt Cup / Miele FIS Slaloms Feb. 27 & 28 and the 5th edition of the GMC Cup Slaloms, March 5 & 6. These two race series are the most elite level races the Region will host this year and will be attending by the best FIS racers in eastern Canada and many for the US. As many of you are aware it takes more than 100 volunteers to host the races and we need your support.
The Chief of Race, Terry McLaughlan and all the members of the ROC welcome the support of volunteers of all levels. It should be noted that any proceeds from these events are reinvested directly by the NCD into additional safety systems, timing equipment and athlete development for the benefit of all athletes in the region.

and get the best chance at getting the volunteer position of your dreams!! Although we cannot guarantee what job you may be assigned it is always better to be first in-line!!!! Please pass the word if I have missed anyone in this email.
Let us know what your first and second choices are for positions and what your availability is. We particularly need help for the Friday, March 5 GMC Cup Slalom and for set-up on February 25th and March 3rd. A hot lunch is provided to all volunteers during set-up and on race days.
Thanks for the support and let us know ASAP where you think you can help . A response like " I will be there to do whatever is required" is greatly appreciated.
We need 25 course crew workers , 22 gate judges, handtimers, runners, scribes, race administration helpers, starters, finish area help, bib collectors etc. for both days!!
February 26, 2010 is the 50th Anniversary of Anne Heggtveitt's Olympic Slalom Gold at Squaw Valley, Canada's 1st Olympic Gold Medal is Alpine Skiing. Anne will be in attendance at this year's races, so make sure you come out and show your support for our own Olympic Champion and hopefully help celebrate new Canadian Olympic gold medal winners.
Thanks for your support
Alan Sainsbury for the ROC.
